We made it to the track on Friday for a much anticipated test session. After a few warm up laps and quick inspection, I began to stretch its legs once again. However, after just 14mins for track time upon exiting turn 10, the stock oil filter adapter decide to let go of the remote line adapter and dump all the oil initially on the bell housing and then all over the track.
Confused by the sudden lack of torque or smoke and then noticing the lack of oil pressure; I killed the engine. Rolling to a halt near the old pit entry, but not after pouring the rest of our freshly warmed oil all over the racing line of turns 11 and 12. I wasn’t very popular at this point – rookie mistake.
Dejected and having robbed Rory of a drive at all we sheepishly packed up and headed home.
Seen better days…
