We decided to go with Racelogic’s Video VBOX lite package including the OLED with predictive lap timing. It takes two SD video feeds and a 10Hz GPS signal and records all the data to a log file and a MP4 with a custom scene file / graphics to an SD card. Additionally live data is displayed on the OLED such as current lap, speed, top speed best lap etc etc. Best of all, this large OLED can display a real-time (@10hz) predictive outcome of your current lap by comparing your position over time against your best lap position at the same lap time… effectively giving you a best lap ‘ghost car’ to compete against.

With the analysis & custom scene / gauges software, additional Input Modules this system seemed like a cost-effective way to get the most value from our limited track time.

We will be able to pour over the data and find where we are loosing time. Whether it’s away from the track, when we step out of the car – or in realtime during a lap on the OLED.
