The area we were going to spray started off as a simply re-prime of the footwell area, but rapidly developed to the entire floor of the interior.
After a grey primer coat, we tried a Matt White, but it came out too rough and we thought it would be a pain to clean, so we switched it up to gloss white instead. The first coat of Epoxy Enamel didn’t set-off properly because we left the drapes over the car and it didn’t have enough oxygen to cure.. so after 3 days, with it still a little tacky, we put another coat on top, bringing it to a total of 4 coats. We left it for about a week to properly cure, and it was well worth the wait! Nice and hard, very durable and smooth.
We did it all with cans, we couldn’t be bothered setting up the gun etc on the air compressor and bothering with mixing and cleaning up. Plus the total cost here was probably only about $100 or so. For reference, after the primer and matt white coats, we used the Wattyl Kill Rust “One-Step Epoxy Enamel in Gloss White.”.
