Reinforcing the chassis rails

I wasn’t happy with the jack points on the sill and with all the buckling that was beginning on the chassis rails I decided it would be worth bracing them with some large steel angle-iron. I welded where I could and used M6 / 10mm locating bolts also, seeing as there was existing threads tapped.  Not the lightest solution, but hey – welding is quick n strong, and if you’re going to be adding weight, it doesn’t get much lower than this!

These will also serve as good flush points to mount any under body aero work to, like an under tray etc, whilst still being a key jacking point. So I threaded some quick mount points into them also. These should end up being the lowest points on the car, with the exhaust to tuck up above these creating a nice flat plane that we can eventually smooth out to decrease air pressure under the car.
