In early 2009, the two of us decided it should no longer remain a dream to own, develop and regularly use a dedicated track car.

After much discussion as to what we wanted to achieve, the layout and other characteristics we desired, we came to agree upon getting an R33 GTS-T. Either series would do, and the quality of bodywork didn’t really matter to us, but it needed to be in good mechanical condition, if modified then it needed to be something we would want to keep or choose ourselves and most of all it had to be black, white or grey, no color!

Eventually we came across a suitable 1993 Series 1. The engine had just been rebuilt and it had some basic modifications that we were after, but was otherwise very stock.

After a quick test drive and some bargaining – the car was ours including a set of Enkei wheels to boot.

The first time we drove it by ourselves it was dark and wet – that was a little unnerving – but it was all ours to use, abuse, cherish and relish how we saw fit…
